Fernando Rojas-Vizcaya, DDS, MS
1.#BiographyDr. Fernando Rojas-Vizcaya is Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Prosthodontics at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, NC. He is the Founder and Director of the Mediterranean Prosthodontic Institute and maintains a private practice limited to dental implant surgery and prosthodontics in Castellon, Spain (Clinica Rojas-Vizcaya) and lectures extensively worldwide.
Dr. Rojas-Vizcaya received his DDS degree at the School of Dentistry of the University Javeriana of Bogota, Colombia. He received a Doctorate in Buccal Surgery and a University Specialty Degree in Oral Medicine and in Implant Surgery both at the University Complutense in Madrid. He received additionally training in Oral Surgery at Gregorio Marañon Hospital in the same city.
Dr. Rojas-Vizcaya completed his post-graduate specialty degree in Prosthodontics along with a Master of Sciences Degree in Prosthodontics, and a Fellowship in Oral Implantology at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. He is Diplomate and Mastership of the ICOI-IPS, and he has the homologation by the European Jury for Implantology and Oral Rehabilitation.
His major research interest includes aesthetic management in complex dental implant cases in immediate placement and immediate loading protocols, and bone regeneration with different bone graft materials.
Dr. Rojas-Vizcaya is also assisting faculty in UCL Eastman, London; and consultant for the Journal News & Trends in Orthodontics, form Taiwan.
