Implant Prosthodontic Program


Course info.

The "Implant Prosthodontic Program" is for dentists looking for the excellence in implant dentistry. It is supported by a Certificate of participation from the Mediterranean Prosthodontic Institute (MPI), a Certificate of completion from "The International Congress of Oral Implantologists" (ICOI) and a Certificate from the Department of Prosthodontics in the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill (UNC) acknowledging the successful completion of the program.

The program is one year in length spread over 4 sessions; the first 3 session (1 session is 4 full days) will be in the MPI in Castellon, Spain and the last session including the graduating ceremony in the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

The program includes theory, hands-on workshops, materials for the program, case presentation by the attendees and live surgical demostrations by the faculty.

Fernando Rojas-Vizcaya, DDS, MS

Dr. Rojas-Vizcaya is Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Prosthodontics at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. He received his Certificate and Master in Prosthodontics and his Implant Research Fellowship from UNC-Chapel Hill, USA.


Lyndon Cooper, DDS, PhD

Dr. Cooper is Chairman and Program Director of the Department of Prosthodontics in the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, USA.


Dr. Homa Zadeh

Dr. Zadeh is an Associate Professor at the University of Southern California. He is the Director of the Laboratory for Immunoregulation and Tissue Engineering, founded by the National Institute of Health and Director of USC International Periodontal and Implant Symposium.

Additional professors from the Department of Prosthodontics in the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill and from the Faculty Member of the Mediterranean Prosthodontic Institute will be involved in different sessions






Topics covered.

The entire course is focused on implant dentistry, with special attention to surgery, periodontics and prosthodontics.

Implant program has been designed to provide students with real cases to increase their theoretical and practical preparation. Thus, theoretical introductions and master classes by our teachers will be the introduction to the practical part, where the practice with pig maxillae and the model itself designed by the MPI for hands-on workshops.

Another point to be taken into account is the clinical digital photography, actual practice of it on people, and offering a practice identical to that students may make to their queries.
